I know I am supposed to type "Sage" somewhere, but where?
If you installed the sage-*.*.ova image from the sagemath website, the Sage notebook should start automatically.

I did install sage-7.4.ova, but don't get the window shown in step 3.3 Using Sage after the Virtual Machine booting, despite following all installation instructions to the letter. The window that does come up is quite different: it contains 'jupyter' sub-window with the run-down list of files "sage", "sage-7.4", "notebook-browser", and others with the options/buttons of 'upload', 'new' on the upper right side of the sub-window, with no command line anywhere. Pressing Right-Ctrl plus F1 does not bring anything, Any suggestions?
I have exactly the same problem. There are no docs anywhere, I guess the assumption is that it is "obvious" what to do next. It is not obvious to me.
Someone below says "The notebook should start automatically". It does not. And I have no idea how to start it. I use sage all the time on linux boxes and macosx, and it just works on those systems. Why is the virtual sage so difficult?
Unfortunately, usually it's incredibly hard to debug the Windows issues without having physical access to the machine. However, the default notebook interface on Windows has changed (soon the rest of Sage will follow suit) and perhaps that is part of the issue. There are docs - though the links have changed, see https://wiki.sagemath.org/SageApplian... though note "For SageMath 7.0 and higher, most steps should work but the final steps should be adapted to take into account the new default which is to use the Jupyter notebook."
