There are now some instructions for installing and running Sage for Windows at

https://wiki.sagemath.org/SageWindows

I am trying to keep this up as best I can, and any other troubleshooting tips people come up with would be welcome additions as well.

There exists a page on the Sage wiki about the use of Virtualbox. Perhaps could you contribute to it if some W10 specificities are missing.

Note also that there are other ways to use Sage on windows : via cygwin (to be officially released soon), via docker, from a live USB (this is more about bypassing W10).

There are now some instructions for installing and running Sage for Windows at https://wiki.sagemath.org/SageWindows but my answer mentioning this doesn't seem to be showing up.
