2015-03-11 03:00:04 +0200	commented question	PIP Install Fail 6.5 I do have command line tools installed and it is Configured with: --prefix=/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/usr --with-gxx-include-dir=/usr/include/c++/4.2.1 Apple LLVM version 6.0 (clang-600.0.57) (based on LLVM 3.5svn) Target: x86_64-apple-darwin14.1.0 Thread model: posix When I do ./sage --sh followed by which gcc i get /Applications/sage-6.5.app/contents/resources/sage/local/libexec/ccache/gcc, which seems to be the issue. How would I get the binary to use the Apple clang compiler?

Everything seemed fine, but I tried to using ./sage pip install pandas and got the following error: error: command 'gcc' failed with exit status 1 ---------------------------------------- Cleaning up... Command /Applications/sage-6.5.app/contents/resources/sage/local/bin/python -c "import setuptools, tokenize;__file__='/private/var/folders/q5/mcrwfjqj7_l3gjlqtx02d2g40000gn/T/pip_build_eh/pandas/setup.py';exec(compile(getattr(tokenize, 'open', open)(__file__).read().replace('\r\n', '\n'), __file__, 'exec'))" install --record /var/folders/q5/mcrwfjqj7_l3gjlqtx02d2g40000gn/T/pip-678ua0-record/install-record.txt --single-version-externally-managed --compile failed with error code 1 in /private/var/folders/q5/mcrwfjqj7_l3gjlqtx02d2g40000gn/T/pip_build_eh/pandas I also tried ./sage --sh followed by pip install pandas and received the same error.
