2011-10-22 12:40:16 +0200 asked a question What is password for sage?

I am trying to get ready to ready to install guest additions so that I can arrange for shared folders. I have Sage running in virtual machine in an Oracle VM VirtualBox. When the VM containing Sage comes up it shows Fedora being loaded.

According to Chapter 4 Guest Additions in the Oracle VM VirtualBox User Manual, I'm told to enter yum install dkms In response I'm told "You need to be root to perform this command."

[sage@sage sage]$ sudo yum install dkms asks for a password for sage.

I have no idea what the root password is. I don't think I was asked to establish a password for root (admin)

I suspected that the two of us should not edit at the same time. Is there an easy way to signal to my collaborator not to edit because I am editing, and the other way around?

Sage warned me in a red banner (as best I can remember) that someone is viewing the notebook that is was working on.

Was I being given a warning? If so what should I do? Wait until my collaborator has left the notebook.

What happens if we both try to make changes at the same?

We are working online. I get taken to sageb.

I forgot to mention that I sign on via OpenID routed through Google.

When I sign on I am taken to www.sageb.org.I sent tmy URL to my collaborator; but she got taken to her sign on page. I will ask her for the URL of her page. When do I enter the URL? when I am on my home page? When I get her URL I will know what server as in sageb.or or ... My collaborator is in France, I am in Detroit, USA a hour time difference.

I have shared a notebook with a collaborator, but she does not have it in her list of notebooks. Likewise, she shared a notebook with me, but I do not see it in my list of notebooks. I checked; her name is listed as a user. She says my name appears as a user.
