Here is the link to the 5.1 version of sage.
The easy way to install in a VM is to download the pre-built sage.ova file. This file needs to be imported into your virtual machine manager. However when I went to find a link to the one I downloaded a couple days ago it is no longer there. The second way is to install the linux operating system you prefer into the virtual machine manager of your choice. The standard options are Virtualbox and VMware player for free versions. Once you get that done, you need a little linux know-how to install the latest version of sage. You can find your favorite flavor of ubuntu here, its linux for everyone. http://www.ubuntu.com/

I guess you need to give a bit more details; there are several ways to install Sage on a VM...
