I am trying to use Sagetex within Lyx (Version 2.3) on an M1 Mac (MacOS Monterey 12.4).

Sagetex works fine when I use Aquamacs or TexStudio. Within Lyx, I have installed the sage module available here (https://wiki.lyx.org/Layouts/Modules#...) by copying it to "/Applications/LyX.app/Contents/Resources" and clicking "reconfigure". The module is visible under Documents->Settings.

When I activate the sage module within the example.lyx document provided under the URL above, the preview and update icons in the editor are deactivated. Also, under the menu "File->Export", the option "Export [PDF (pdflatex)]" is grayed out. If I choose "Export as..." and subsequently choose PDF(pdflatex), I get the error message "No information for exporting the format LaTeX (pdflatex)". The same happens when I choose export as latex(pdflatex). (BTW It makes no difference whether I add "\usepackage{sagetex}" to the preamble or not.) The only available export option is LyXHTML.

Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks for your help!
