legend_label in 3d plotting
legend_label is an option in 2d plotting. I'm wondering if there is something similar in 3d plotting?

Not really currently - I've opened Trac 14992 for this. However, if you use the Jmol interactive interface in the notebook, you can get something sort of like this for changing colors etc. - not a label, but at least related.
