Can I delete a large block of cells from a worksheet without deleting them one at a time?
One thing I do is ctrl-backspace in the bottom cell a bunch of times to combine all the cells I want to delete, then ctrl-a to highlight everything in the cell, then backspace and backspace to delete the text and cell.

Yes, you can. If you go up to "Edit", you'll see an HTML-y looking version that you can use and just wholesale delete things.
