sage doesn't load properly in mac osx 10.7.1 (Lion)

How do I get sage to load properly on a Macbook Pro, OSX 10.7.1 (Lion), 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 duo, 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3? Terminal log follows:

I think that http://ask.sagemath.org/question/740/app-installation-problem-on-mac-os-x-lion might have some helpful ideas. I'm really not sure why this happens, unfortunately.

This is a really old issue, but it still appears top on Google for this error. A viable fix is to run sudo chown username /Users/username/.sage in terminal.

Now that you mention it, the error message does make that a pretty obvious thing to try - good work! I haven't had this happen, but hopefully others will find this answer useful.
