Confused about installation

asked 2018-02-28 02:58:16 +0200

I downloaded 8.1(binary). I'm not sure what to do next. Is there an installation program? I'm using Windows 7.

After double clicking the icon on my desktop, I was expecting a window like Matlab to enter commands and see results.

Have you downloaded the Windows installer SageMath-8.1.exe from that page? (this is the recommended way to install SageMath on Windows).

No I haven't. I followed what I thought was the complete download instructions on the Sagemath site. If you could provide a link to the download resources/instructions that would be welcome.

Thank you.

To get the link, simply click on "page" in my answer. This is also what you get if you visit and follow "For Windows installer binaries see the GitHub releases page."
