Can I generate 3D plots in isometric projection?

I'd like to show some plots in isometric projection. For certain plots, it's not hard to project the lines manually and do a 2d plot, but ideally, I'd like to rotate the plot with the mouse, and be able to show any 3d plot in isometric projection: do you know a way?

Please give a minimal example, some code that makes the issue transparent and relevant, so that potential helpers can start. It is hard to do something in this generality. Some comments on the "isometric projection" may be also welcome.

To get isometric projection when viewing 3d plots on the notebook (with jsmol):

  • right_click on the background close to the picture to let a menu appear
  • select "style" in the menu
  • uncheck the "Perspective Depth" box

Very promising! I do see the menu when I right click on the plot, but the menu does not work, and the submenu does not display...

Indeed, it seems there is an issue with the jupyter noteboo, it works well on the olde sage notebook.
