Plotting an algebraic curve

I'm looking for the right function that lets me 2D-plot an algebraic curve like $x^2+y^2=1$. I know this example will get me a circle, but I want to use this to get an idea about how the curve looks like, so using a special function like doesn't help me.

I would be happy if anyone could point me to the right function. Thanks!

The function you are probably looking for is implicit_plot:

sage: f(x,y) = x^2 + y^2 -1
sage: implicit_plot(f, (-2, 2), (-2, 2))

Note that there also exists implicit_plot3d for functions in 3 variables.
