Did anyone else face a problem with cython after upgrading to Mavrick?

I updated the OS on my Macbook air from 10.8 to 10.9 and now I cannot run cython in sage notebook. Has anyone else faced this problem? I get an error

/Users/shashank/sage/local/bin/../lib/gcc/x86_64-apple-darwin12.4.0/4.7.3/include-fixed/limits.h:169:61: fatal error: limits.h: No such file or directory
compilation terminated.
error: command 'gcc' failed with exit status 1

I checked that the file limits.h exists and the specified path. I am not sure whether is a problem due to the OS upgrade but I don't remember changing anything else on my system.
