Ask Your Question

Revision history [back]

Trying to clarify the question:

  • you connect to a distant Sage Notebook server, running Sage 6.0 (a bit like sagenb.org which has Sage 5.11);
  • you connect from your computer, using Firefox 35.0;
  • you start a long computation and put your computer in sleep mode;
  • you want the computation to keep running to the end while your computer is sleeping;
  • instead, you find out that the computation has stopped while your computer was sleeping.

(Please correct if the question you want to ask is different.)

If that's your question, I think the Sage Notebook server might have some limits to the amount of memory each user can use, and some timeout on how long computations can take before they are stopped. You could try to use SageMathCloud at cloud.sagemath.com, or to find a Sage Notebook server with more generous usage limits.
