It looks like when I try to install from source on Linux Mint 13 that it doesn't recognise gcc.
I am running this in virtualbox on Windows Vista. The virtual machine has 2gb of ram, a 15 gb hard disk and a new install of linux mint 13 cinnamon.
The first part of the logfile says: Installing GCC because a Fortran compiler is missing. * ALL ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES BEFORE BUILD: *

@multilib_flags@ is still needed because this may use

@multilib_dir@ is not really necessary, but sometimes it has
more uses than just a directory name.

Error installing package gcc-4.6.3
Please email sage-devel (http://groups.google.com/group/sage-devel) explaining the problem and including the relevant part of the log file /home/ian/Documents/sage-5.0.1/spkg/logs/gcc-4.6.3.log Describe your computer, operating system, etc. If you want to try to fix the problem yourself, don't just cd to /home/ian/Documents/sage-5.0.1/spkg/build/gcc-4.6.3 and type 'make' or whatever is appropriate. Instead, the following commands setup all environment variables correctly and load a subshell for you to debug the error: (cd '/home/ian/Documents/sage-5.0.1/spkg/build/gcc-4.6.3' && '/home/ian/Documents/sage-5.0.1/sage' -sh) When you are done debugging, you can type "exit" to leave the subshell.

I have tried removing the default gcc install and compiling. I have also tried reinstalling gcc and compiling. I have also installed several different versions of gfortran-4.6 I have also redownloaded the source in case of a corrupt download
Any help?
