Hi All,

I installed SageMath 8.0 in a Windows native system (no VirtualBox). When I start Sage with the SageMath 8.0 Notebook Icon it always start in C:\Users\daniel_000. I want it to always start at D:\Users\Sage (notice it is a different directory and a different drive). I defined environment variables DOT_SAGE=D:\Users\Sage and DOT_SAGENB=D:\Users\Sage to no avail, still starts at C:\Users\daniel_000. I added to the properties of the Icon -o 'DOT_SAGE=D:\Users\Sage' -o 'DOT_SAGENB=D:\Users\Sage to no avail, still starts at C:\Users\daniel_000. What is the proper way to do it? Thanks, Daniel

For starters see this answer which it seems you already did. DOT_SAGE has nothing directly to do with your working directory or home directory (it just happens to be a path relative to your home directory by default). I also wouldn't mess with the shortcut icons. I'll follow up with an actual answer on how to change your home directory.

Out of curiosity, why is it D:\Users\Sage? Is there actually a user called "Sage" on your computer?

Hi Iguananaut, No, there is no user called Sage, it is just a directory in my file system.

Okay that's fine, I just wanted to make sure I understood before I proceeded with any suggestions.

Any news on this?
