Importation of the application failed. How do I remove these error messages? 1.)Could not create the imported medium; 2.)VMDK: could not create new file

Failed to import appliance C:\Users\vmuser\Desktop\sage-7.6.ova. Machine settings file 'C:\Users\vmuser\VirtualBox VMs\Sage-7.6\Sage-7.6.vbox' already exists. Result Code: VBOX_E_FILE_ERROR (0x80BB0004) Component: MachineWrap Interface: IMachine {b2547866-a0a1-4391-8b86-6952d82efaa0}

Something is wrong with the configuration of the VirtualBox itself? Have you moved any directories manually? Try removing C:\Users\vmuser\VirtualBox VMs\Sage-7.6\ and import again.

This is just a comment, and does not answer the posted question, but may be in some sense the right answer. It is really simpler to install linux (e.g. ubuntu, debian, or manjaro - some of my preferences) in 40' on that old, forgotten computer in the corner, then one more click installs sage "the right way" (getting updates) in the same time. The devel experience is a shine. (For example, there will never be an antivirus pop-up during some complicated elliptic curves computatons wanting you to restart the machine immediately.) Sage on he older computer may have a better performance than in VM on a quick box.
