How to type square brackets inside the Sage cloud?

How can I type square brackets inside the terminal of the Sage cloud? I am using Windows XP and a German layout. When I try to type square brackets the usual way (Alt Gr + 8 for the opening square bracket), it behaves like the delete key.

The question should go to SageMathCloud developers, either by emailing the sage-cloud mailing list, or by clicking the Help button in SageMathCloud.

The top right of a SageMathCloud window at https://cloud.sagemath.com, when signed in, has several buttons: (wheel) "Your Name", (?) About, [+] Help, (bell), (connection).

Click the "Help" button with the emergency suitcase icon, and report your problem there.
