Mac can't verify SageMath-7.4

I just purchased a MacBookPro. I downloaded Sage-7.4-OSX_10.11.6-x86_64.app.dmg. When I click on the Sage icon a window opens saying: Verifying "SageMath-7.4"... When it is just over half done it stops. What could be the problem?

This file finishes verification for me on a Macbook Pro running El Capitan. Does your computer have that or Sierra?

I deleted all files related to the sage application. Downloaded it again. Still would not complete the verify step. However I was able to move sage to the applications folder. This process started out going quickly, but then slowed way down. It took several hours to complete. Sage appears to be working fine. Operating system is Sierra Version 10.12.1

Since I finally updated to Sierra yesterday I thought I'd give this another try. Verifies and runs for me, so don't know what would be causing your hang. Glad it's working though!
