I updated my sage (version 7.0) and ran it. I am getting the following error ever since:

Rewriting paths for your new installation directory ===================================================

This might take a few minutes but only has to be done once.

patching /opt/sage/local/share/terminfo/v/vt220 Traceback (most recent call last): File "/opt/sage/", line 85, in <module> p('local/share/terminfo/v/vt220').patch(881, 1006).save() File "/opt/sage/", line 43, in patch assert self.content[end:end+1] == b'\0' AssertionError

We need more info. Linux ? OsX ? How did you "update" ? Did you install the sources or the binaries ?

I removed the old one first. Then unpacked the debian 8 64bit binary package to the directory. After I saw this error, I did a make distclean && make. it went smoothly. But even after this, the error continues.

(I am typing here as I am not able to add comment (results in an error with a red pop-up))
