Sage won't interrupt

asked 10 years ago

I'm trying to interrupt code that has been running a long time (by hitting Esc), and Sage won't do it. It's currently at interrupt attempt 117 and counting. Can anyone explain why it is doing this, and how to make it stop?

You'd be better off describing your operating system and sage environment (command line, app, browser notebook, etc.). If you hit Esc in a *nix shell, of course it won't interrupt anything.

Sometimes this happens with really big computations or things that get a lock on the threads in the system. In this case go to "Action" and choose "Restart Worksheet". (I assume this is the notebook.)
