I have now replaced it with a newer Macbook Pro, and I would like to get my sage worksheets from my previous computer onto my new one. The drive on the old computer is fine and I have access to everything on it, but I do not know where the sage worksheets are stored. According to this: https://ask.sagemath.org/question/8658/where-in-the-file-system-is-sage-notebook-storing-the-worksheets/ they should be in the directory ~/.sage/sage_notebook.sagenb/home/. I have copied the .sage directory from my old hard drive to my new one. Inside there is indeed a directory called sage_notebook.sagenb and inside that there is a directory called home. Inside home is a folder named \__store__, and then three shortcuts (I think they are shortcuts, they are little folders with arrows in the bottom left corner) named admin, guest, and pub. Both guest and pub are empty. The contents of \__store__ are mostly inscrutable. There are essentially three possible paths one can take:
/\__store__/0/08/084/084e/guest/ which is empty
/\__store__/3/3a/3a2/3a21/pub/ which is empty
/\__store__/2/21/212/2123/admin/ which is filled with folders 0 through 34 and a file called history.pickle
Inside each of the folders labeled 0 through 34 are two folders named cells and data and two files named worksheet_conf.pickle and worksheet.html. The data and cells folders are sometimes empty but other times data contains some of my .sobj files and cells contains one or many folders labelled by seemingly random numbers. Inside these folders are files of various types, I think I have seen .sobj, .png, and .txt files so far.
What do I do so that when I run notebook() in a sage terminal and it opens up a browser window with all of my worksheets listed I will be able to see the worksheets that I had on my previous computer?David E. RobersonFri, 29 Mar 2019 10:59:35 -0500http://ask.sagemath.org/question/45942/worksheets inaccessible in 7.3 after attempt to upgrade to Jupyternhttp://ask.sagemath.org/question/34945/worksheets-inaccessible-in-73-after-attempt-to-upgrade-to-jupytern/ I just upgraded to Sage7.3 and seem to have lost access to my old worksheets, which were implemented before the change to Jupytern notebooks. I choose "try to upgrade" when asked, and now get a "can't connect to server" error by Safari when I launch sage.app, saying Safari can't connect to server "localhost". I checked out the old worksheets before after the upgrade to Sage7.3 and before relaunching and choosing to try to upgrade my worksheets.
What can be done to regain access? And can I migrate to Jupytern notebooks manually after that somehow, maybe by copying the source code? uzeroMon, 26 Sep 2016 06:11:02 -0500http://ask.sagemath.org/question/34945/restart execution of a single cell, sage worksheethttp://ask.sagemath.org/question/34046/restart-execution-of-a-single-cell-sage-worksheet/If I'm working in a Sage Worksheet, how can I stop (or restart) the execution of a single cell without stopping the whole worksheet?
If the execution is taking longer than it should and I want edit the cell (if I'm debugging an infinite loop, say) and re-execute without waiting for the initial execution to complete, what's the quickest way to do that?
Thanks!slagljThu, 07 Jul 2016 09:29:26 -0500http://ask.sagemath.org/question/34046/Syncing worksheets across different computers?http://ask.sagemath.org/question/11023/syncing-worksheets-across-different-computers/I know this has been asked before, but I don't believe there has been a satisfactory answer. I'm using Sage in two places: work and home, and would like some way for my recent work at either place to be synced to the other. With individual files Dropbox works a treat, but I understand that Dropbox has some difficulty with symbolic links, and as such is sub-optimal for the syncing of Sage worksheets.
I suppose I could save a worksheet to an .sws file within my Dropbox tree...is there a way to set up the notebook so that no matter where the worksheet files are stored, all sws files are kept somewhere else?

save(myvar,"myvar")
so that it will be available for future uses of the worksheet, but I want to open it up in *another* worksheet (basically I don't want to clog up this second worksheet with all the machinery used to create this variable). Can this be done easily?

If I unclick the "Typeset" box then I can see my results in 1D unpretty-printed ASCII; if I choose the Typeset box, the the outputs are all blank. So somehow interrupting Sage interrupted its typesetting engine as well. How do I turn this back on?AlasdairSun, 09 Feb 2014 13:57:33 -0600http://ask.sagemath.org/question/11016/How can i access my Sage Alpha Worksheets?http://ask.sagemath.org/question/10981/how-can-i-access-my-sage-alpha-worksheets/I used to use Sage Alpha before the launch of Sage Cloud. Now I can neither find my Sage Alpha worksheets anywhere nor how to login to sage Alpha. This is crucial, because all my worksheets I need for my Master's Thesis are in Sage Alpha.
How can I login to Sage Aplha?
If that's impossible, how can I access my Sage Alpha worksheets?
Can someone please help me?

Even after deleting ALL worksheets (after backing them up), creating a new worksheet opens the already deleted-and-emptied Worksheet 14 rather than opening a blank 01. Any suggestions?ZomulgustarWed, 24 Apr 2013 03:59:19 -0500http://ask.sagemath.org/question/10059/Old worksheets, new versionhttp://ask.sagemath.org/question/9223/old-worksheets-new-version/Hi everyone,
I just did the most stupid thing; I was having problems running sage 5.2 because i was keeping my old .sage directory in my home folder, so I renamed it and let sage create a new one. My problem now is that I can't retrieve my old worksheets (I know, I should have saved them before deleting the old version). I have all the info that was in my old .sage directory, and I've copied all the sage_notebook.sagenb/home/admin contents to the corresponding new directory, but with this I only see the titles of the worksheets on the notebook; when I click on any of them I get a blank page instead of the worksheet... any ideas?peichFri, 10 Aug 2012 12:10:26 -0500http://ask.sagemath.org/question/9223/SSR Security Access Issueshttp://ask.sagemath.org/question/9018/ssr-security-access-issues/Greetings! I have set up the Ubuntu64bit 10.04.3 version of Sage Math on a server at RackSpace Cloud I am renting to use as a remote Sage Math server. as long as I set secure=True and also run the "screen" tool for Linux, the sage notebook runs fine. My intention is to use Sage Math as a resource for teaching math in the virtual world of Second Life. Now I can access the published worksheets from www.sagenb.org/pub from within Second Life without any trouble and display them in-world. This is important for my educational purposes on Second Life where I have a virtual school. In the case of my server at Rackspace, I can easily access published worksheets with a regular browser but I cannot do so from within Second Life. I get the error message that SSL handshake failed. I tried reinstalling Sage Math without using SSL but the notebook refuses to function if I do that, and eventually the installation becomes corrupt if I keep trying. I was forced to rebuild the server from scratch and download the Sage Math program to get things working again. Now, obviously it is possible to access the published worksheets since I had no trouble with this on www.sagenb.org/pub, so i would like to know how to accomplish this on my server. security is not a big deal as no important data is intended to be stored on it, it is just to facilitate interaction. I wouldnt mind running the notebook server unsecured if only it would let me. So far I have not figured out any solution to the problem and would really appreciate some help.
Thank You,
