Ctrl F1 is ok for going in terminal window but Ctrl F2 does not allow me to quit terminal mode !
the only way I find is to Off/On the VM Which is a little bit long !.
on the other hand how do I open the pdf tutorial in the VM ?
(I copied the tutorial PDF in /sage/home/sage/SageTuto).
I found Sage very very complicated, I m not sure to continue with it.

I wish to use a UK keyboard layout. I have with version 6.9 used Chrome with an address of localhost:8000. This still works with my 6.9 VM but not with 7.3. This is true irrespective of whether I specify the Jupyter notebook or the original sage notebook.DMWWed, 21 Sep 2016 02:47:46 -0500http://ask.sagemath.org/question/34874/Executing python scripts between Windows and Sage VMhttp://ask.sagemath.org/question/10975/executing-python-scripts-between-windows-and-sage-vm/I'm trying to execute python scripts from a webpage that include sage commands. I cannot get this to work on any Linux distro, regardless of how many different install instructions I've read. So I decided I'd load the VM OVA of Sage and see if there was a way to communicate with it.
I see it exists on port 8000, and that's grand, but I don't want the Notebook. What I need to do is import the sage library into my python scripts from the VM that exist on my Windows 7 machine, or execute them from the VM and return the data to my Windows 7 machine. (Windows 7 is a WAMP server)
Sagecell is impossible to get working on Linux unless you're a prodigy or realllllly lucky after a build or it's start over (5+ hours per build). It would be fantastic if there was a sagecell OVA for use on the VM for Windows, there's just too many bad install suggestions and even those who know it inside and out have been unable to help me getting it up and running.
Any suggestions would be awesome. Even if it's "You simply cannot do what you want to do." and I'll find an alternative.
Thanks a ton guys! Love the product btw.poppadogFri, 31 Jan 2014 07:24:29 -0600http://ask.sagemath.org/question/10975/Load data when running Sage from a VM in Windowshttp://ask.sagemath.org/question/10836/load-data-when-running-sage-from-a-vm-in-windows/Hi, is there a way to load data into Sage when I´m running it from a virtual machine in VirtualBox and the data is in Windows? Thanks.AntonioMon, 16 Dec 2013 09:43:00 -0600http://ask.sagemath.org/question/10836/Sage .ova file for 5.1 works, does not work for 5.2 in Oracle VMhttp://ask.sagemath.org/question/9226/sage-ova-file-for-51-works-does-not-work-for-52-in-oracle-vm/I just used 5.1 with Oracle VM and it works fine. The 5.2 ova file does not work. I got the 5.2 file from here: http://www.stp.dias.ie/~vbraun/Sage/sage-5.2.ova
I was unable to fine the 5.2 .ova from the main page and navigate to it. The above link was provided to me in the answers.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Am I using a beta version of 5.2? I need the log scale feature of 5.2.gjmWed, 15 Aug 2012 10:41:56 -0500http://ask.sagemath.org/question/9226/Sage Wiki: who's responsible for the SageAppliance page?http://ask.sagemath.org/question/8992/sage-wiki-whos-responsible-for-the-sageappliance-page/The Sage Wiki page about [The Sage Virtual Machine](http://wiki.sagemath.org/SageAppliance) is now out of date (see http://ask.sagemath.org/question/1435/sage-50-virtualbox-shell-access). Whom do I ask about updating it?TSchwennMon, 21 May 2012 12:33:55 -0500http://ask.sagemath.org/question/8992/Sage-5.0 VirtualBox shell accesshttp://ask.sagemath.org/question/8991/sage-50-virtualbox-shell-access/The sage-5.0.ova virtual machine (I got mine via [torrent](http://www.sagemath.org/mirror/win/meta/sage-5.0.ova.torrent)) now boots directly into a Chrome browser open to the notebook page. (The old sage-4.8.ova boots to the Sage shell and asks you to direct your browser to localhost:8000.) While this new behavior may be convenient for quick use, I can't figure out how to configure the server behind it. The VirtualBox window running Sage-5.0 is all Chrome, with neither *close* button nor any toolbar visible. The right-click menu has nothing of use: just *back*, *forward*, *view source*, etc.) How can I access the Sage shell now?
The directions at [http://wiki.sagemath.org/SageAppliance#Using_the_Sage_shell](http://wiki.sagemath.org/SageAppliance#Using_the_Sage_shell) ("press **Ctrl C**") no longer work with this new version. I also tried **Alt-F4** to quit Chrome, but it shut down the whole virtual machine with it.TSchwennMon, 21 May 2012 11:29:03 -0500http://ask.sagemath.org/question/8991/Can one do development in the virtual machine?http://ask.sagemath.org/question/8514/can-one-do-development-in-the-virtual-machine/I'm pretty sure the answer to this is yes (for instance, the [VirtualBox instructions](http://boxen.math.washington.edu/sage/win/README-virtualbox.txt) strongly imply it), but I don't see it here, so I might as well ask it.
- Can one do development (e.g., `sage -b`) on the VirtualBox image with no prereqs?
- If not, what are the minimum additions needed (such as `yum/apt-get foo`)?kcrismanMon, 28 Nov 2011 06:50:53 -0600http://ask.sagemath.org/question/8514/
