I was wondering how you can compile a Sage .pyx file into an embedded Cython .c file and compile it with gcc to create a standalone executable?
I tried:
sage -cython --embed filename.pyx
gcc filename.c -I/path/to/python -lpython2.7
but when I run the program it gives me the following error:
from sage.all import *
ImportError: No module named sage.all
Thanks!

Every time I hit "New Worksheet", one of my already created worksheets opens up, but the title is now "Untitled" and if I do "Discard and Quit", then my previously created file still shows the title "Untitled". That's a bit weird and makes this much harder to use. Am I doing something wrong, or is it a bug?
I'm using Sage 4.7 in Windows 7 through Virtual Box.
Update: The problem was in Firefox 5. But, I closed it and opened it again and it worked fine. And, IE9 worked fine. So, no idea!

What is the basic difference between these two fora?
Which type of queries one should visit sage-support@google-groups and for which queries one should come here? Or both are for general purpose? Then what is the need for two?

And my other cores were staying without work.
Is there a some techniques to force all my cores to work?
May be there is some python library or (the best case!) some automation... petRUShkaMon, 24 Oct 2011 10:00:31 +0200https://ask.sagemath.org/question/8411/how to write .digit() ??https://ask.sagemath.org/question/8398/how-to-write-digit/I create function that want to see result of *example* 128.digit() = [1,1,0,0,0,0,..] like this (not sure)

I want to store some data in a file, Excel or Access or something, because that's what I know. I am using statements like o.write("something" + ", " + "something" + "\r") and I'm doing this in a loop. I'm writing it to a txt file. So, Sage does its thing and there's the little "stuff.txt" link I can click on afterward. I click on it and it looks just how I want it. Then, using Firefox 6.whatever is out these days, I do file save as and save it as stuff.txt. I open it and there are no line breaks at all and the data is pretty much useless. I also tried "\n" and same thing.
I found a sort of solution, because I could use "stuff.csv" instead and it mostly works right. The problem there is, I have data which has commas in it. So, I was hoping to do a .txt file using tab delimited so the commas in the data didn't cause problems. But, the above problem for .txt files exists and I don't know how to fix it.
Oh, also just copying and pasting the data from the file Sage creates (before saving it using Firefox) didn't work today when I had nearly 300,000 lines of data. Excel/Access have the "[Not responding]" message, even though Excel and Access can easily handle 300,000 lines of data. Perhaps it is the clipboard is not big enough for that? I don't know.
Any ideas? Thanks for your help!G-SageMon, 19 Sep 2011 23:01:20 +0200https://ask.sagemath.org/question/8332/Sharing code between worksheets (Windows)https://ask.sagemath.org/question/8318/sharing-code-between-worksheets-windows/Dear all
I recently read the following question and answers:
The problem is, I use Windows. This answer does not really work for me, though it would be wonderful if I could put all of my custom functions in one worksheet and then reference those in any other worksheet I use. I don't even know where to begin. For one, I don't even have access to the Shell (pardon me if I don't really talk about things properly because I don't really know what I'm talking about). When I start up my Virtual machine for Sage 4.7 in Virtual Box, it opens up a DOS looking window (the Shell, right?) and says a bunch of stuff and when it stops moving, I open up my browser and do http:\\localhost:8000 or whatever. If I try to do anything in the Shell, nothing happens. I type stuff, I see my typing. I hit enter, it just does moves the cursor to the next line. Nothing else ever happens. So, all I have access to is the Notebook stuff. And, I've looked all over in that and I don't really know how to save a worksheet as a .py or .sage or whatever other file types are required. I've tried to look around my virtual machine and I have no idea how to access the various directories. I could probably figure it out if the Shell worked, but it doesn't.
Can any one help me at all?
Thanks!G-SageMon, 12 Sep 2011 17:07:03 +0200https://ask.sagemath.org/question/8318/No Module "sage.all" or no module Pyfitshttps://ask.sagemath.org/question/8213/no-module-sageall-or-no-module-pyfits/Hello to all.
