It happens when computing a solution that runs off to +/- infinity. For example, the following command will do it:
t,y = var('t,y')
f(t,y) = 6+y-y^2
desolve_rk4(f(t,y), y, ivar=t, ics=[0,-4], end_points=[0,10], output='plot')
If I make "end_points" run from 0 to something much smaller, like 0.1, everything is okay. But I want some way to fix this behavior so that I can change the initial conditions easily for classroom demos without having to constantly change the endpoints (in an interact, for example). I also don't quite understand why it should be taking so long simply to run to infinity -- this behavior doesn't match my understanding of the RK4 algorithm. (I can understand that we might hit overflow quickly, but I would expect it should simply stop computation at that point.)
Any suggestions?AndyWed, 05 Feb 2014 14:47:15 +0100https://ask.sagemath.org/question/10996/Long expression in printed-out documentshttps://ask.sagemath.org/question/10278/long-expression-in-printed-out-documents/Hi all!
Could you give me a hint how to display a long symbolic result (Latex-like) in such a manner that it would be acceptable for printing, e.g. into pdf document (i.e. how to split automatically the output into several rows).
The command view(eq1, tiny=True), proposed in a similar topic, apparently does not work.
Thank you all in advance!hellerkopfTue, 25 Jun 2013 13:09:53 +0200https://ask.sagemath.org/question/10278/Show long expressions in interactive shellhttps://ask.sagemath.org/question/8388/show-long-expressions-in-interactive-shell/Greatings, colleagues.
I have a problem when I need to display some long formula by means of command show().
For example the following code generates some long formula:
x=var('x')
F = integrate(tan(x),x)
FF = integrate(F,x)
After that, when I enter:
show(FF)
the generated sage.dvi shows only the part of formula, the rest is cut off by page borders.
Please, tell me how to display long expressions in proper way.Aleksey_RMon, 17 Oct 2011 11:29:09 +0200https://ask.sagemath.org/question/8388/
