solve(x^3+1==0,x)
yields
[x == 1/2*I*sqrt(3)*(-1)^(1/3) - 1/2*(-1)^(1/3),
x == -1/2*I*sqrt(3)*(-1)^(1/3) - 1/2*(-1)^(1/3),
x == (-1)^(1/3)]
if you then put into sage `(1/2*I*sqrt(3)*(-1)^(1/3) - 1/2*(-1)^(1/3))^3+1`
the result it gives is `(1/2*I*sqrt(3)*(-1)^(1/3) - 1/2*(-1)^(1/3))^3 + 1`. it's like it doesn't know what to do with it's own answers.akatsukiMon, 12 Sep 2016 22:40:58 +0200https://ask.sagemath.org/question/34805/
