f_x = (x**3 - x**2 + 3*x + 4) / (x**2 - 4*x + 3)
plot(f_x, (x, 0, 4), detect_poles=True, ymin=-100, ymax=100)
results in a graph with a max y of about 500000.
What am I doing wrong? The x-axis is limited, as I want, in the range 0 to 4.SageSun, 07 Nov 2021 14:26:58 +0100https://ask.sagemath.org/question/59625/ymin and ymax not workinghttps://ask.sagemath.org/question/59626/ymin-and-ymax-not-working/ When I run this code:
f_x = (x**3 - x**2 + 3*x + 4) / (x**2 - 4*x + 3)
plot(f_x, x+3, (x, 0, 4), detect_poles=True, ymin=-100, ymax=100)
the result is a graph with ymax ~ 500000 and ymin ~(- 1000). What am I doing wrong?SageSun, 07 Nov 2021 14:29:01 +0100https://ask.sagemath.org/question/59626/plotting tan()https://ask.sagemath.org/question/10725/plotting-tan/When I enter these lines:
p = plot(tan(x), x, -pi, pi)
p.show(xmin=-pi, xmax=pi, ymin=-10, ymax=10)
in cloud.sagemath, I get a graph with vertical lines at -pi/2 and pi/2.
Can someone tell me why these asymptotes are drawn? Is there a way to eliminate them?leonardoSat, 16 Nov 2013 06:25:31 +0100https://ask.sagemath.org/question/10725/Print value of vertical & horizontal asymptote?https://ask.sagemath.org/question/10297/print-value-of-vertical-horizontal-asymptote/By default the program draws a blue line displaying the vertical asymptote of a function, which is very helpful. If I could get it to display a line through the horizontal asymptote, & print their value, if would be very helpful.
I attempted the following to get the vertical asymptote & had no luck at all:
ans = solve( 7/(x-3) == 0, x)
v0 = ans[0].rhs()
print(v0)
