But Sage keep saying
Error: Neither ImageMagick nor ffmpeg appears to be installed.
And indeed
from sage.misc.sage_ostools import have_program
have_program('convert')
returns false.
But I do have ImageMagick installed by homwbrew.
i.e. it works perfectly in Terminal.
What Could Possibly Go Wrong?
(macOS 10.13; Sage 8.3; Imagemagick 7.0.8.)Symbol 1Tue, 11 Sep 2018 19:18:14 -0500http://ask.sagemath.org/question/43643/Problems installing Sage 8.3 on OSXhttp://ask.sagemath.org/question/43594/problems-installing-sage-83-on-osx/ I am trying to install Sage 8.3 on OSX (latest version, 10.13.6)
I usually download the disk image and drag to Applications, so I attempted this with the file
> sage-8.3-OSX_10.13.6-x86_64.dmg
and checked that the MD5 checksum matched the advertised MD5 sum on the download page.
On opening the disk image, a dialog saying "Verifying" opens up, and starts to verify, but then halts with an error message that I have not seen before:
"The following disk images couldn't be opened, (name of file), image data corrupted"
I downloaded again, and once again the MD5 checksum (called from a terminal window) was correct.
Then I ran Apple's "Disk Utility" and attempt to verify the image, which failed and produced a bunch of diagnostic data that I do not understand. (I have attached this diagnostic output in case it may be helpful)
Any assistance gratefully received.
Diagnostic output from "Disk Utility" starts here:

Does anyone know if/when a version of SageMath for macOS 10.13 might be released? None of my machines run 10.12 anymore, so I feel sort of stuck.
Thanks!

Will there be an update of the above app that will install as a regular Mac OS X application? vvrThu, 24 May 2018 16:48:25 -0500http://ask.sagemath.org/question/42429/can sagemath run under mac high sierra?http://ask.sagemath.org/question/41781/can-sagemath-run-under-mac-high-sierra/ Can SageMath 8.1 run under the latest Mac OS:High Sierra, 10.13.3?cnveMon, 26 Mar 2018 15:08:35 -0500http://ask.sagemath.org/question/41781/SageTeX, TeXShop, and Sage.apphttp://ask.sagemath.org/question/37828/sagetex-texshop-and-sageapp/I'm trying to get SageTeX to work with TeXShop, but there seems to be a conflict about the name of the application.
TeXShop is able to see sagemath.sty, and Sage was working fine, and then I did the following things:
(0) Quit Sagemath.
(1) Rename Sagemath7.6.app to Sage.app
(2) Followed instructions in Ron Bannon's Embedding Sage in LATEX with SageTEX for TEXShop Users, as follows:
(a) Went to ~/Library/TeXShop/Engines/Inactive/Sage and copied the file sage.engine to ~/Library/TeXShop/Engines/
(b) in Terminal, executed
cd /usr/local/texlive/texmf-local/tex/latex
sudo ln -s /Applications/Sage.app/Contents/Resources/sage/data/texmf/tex/generic/sagetex/sagetex.sty sagetex.sty
sudo mktexlsr
(3) Tried to compile an example of SageTex and seemingly nothing happened. I remembered I was not running Sage, so I started Sage.
(4) Got a pile of python errors in Terminal. Oh no!
(5) Looked at the TeXShop console and discovered an error message saying that Sage had gone missing and it looked like I'd tried to rename the Sage application and that this would Not Work.
(6) Renamed Sage.app to Sagemath-7.6.app.
Now Sage runs fine, but TeXShop says it can't find Sage!
