And, the community gets to pick what the ads are. So, perhaps someone could start by nominating Sage. You would need to supply pictures for the ad by specifying a URL. Otherwise, I would just do it myself, but I'm not sure what to use.

2nd option ("it's opensource!"):

3rd option = 1st, but new font ('telex' from google Web Fonts project), and "opensource :)" added:

http://ask.sagemath.org/question/9632/a-place-to-advertise-sage/?comment=18495#post-id-18495Fine to me, but a pity not to have had more time for more people to join or suggestions to improve. Maybe next year. Or maybe it would be a good idea to turn the marketing page on sage into a page of the sage wiki, and endourage people to contribute.Thu, 20 Dec 2012 00:11:17 -0600http://ask.sagemath.org/question/9632/a-place-to-advertise-sage/?comment=18495#post-id-18495Comment by ppurka for
[Updated again: new font and svg file]

http://ask.sagemath.org/question/9632/a-place-to-advertise-sage/?comment=18483#post-id-18483This is a very thoughtful graphic, but I still have some criticism. :) Please don't take it negatively - I am just saying what impression I get when I look at it *by imagining myself as someone who doesn't know what Sage is*. It is difficult for me to be completely objective since I am familiar with Sage.
1. I think the "Sage" word should mimic the "Sage" graphic and colors (like white sage in a blue box) used in the sagemath site. It would help a new person identify this graphic immediately with the website.
2. The graphic looks "busy".
By the way, the sagemath website has some [ready-made logos](http://sagemath.org/library-marketing.html) for marketing.Sat, 22 Dec 2012 01:16:25 -0600http://ask.sagemath.org/question/9632/a-place-to-advertise-sage/?comment=18483#post-id-18483Comment by G-Sage for
[Updated again: new font and svg file]

http://ask.sagemath.org/question/9632/a-place-to-advertise-sage/?comment=18494#post-id-18494The answer I received on MSE is that there is no deadline. If you put it up in 6 months, and then it gets 6 votes, then it will show up as an ad on MSE.Thu, 20 Dec 2012 01:56:16 -0600http://ask.sagemath.org/question/9632/a-place-to-advertise-sage/?comment=18494#post-id-18494Comment by kcrisman for
[Updated again: new font and svg file]

http://ask.sagemath.org/question/9632/a-place-to-advertise-sage/?comment=18502#post-id-18502I agree the font is the "problem". If you post the SVG, I could try to tweak it a bit. :)Tue, 18 Dec 2012 22:56:21 -0600http://ask.sagemath.org/question/9632/a-place-to-advertise-sage/?comment=18502#post-id-18502Comment by Jesustc for
[Updated again: new font and svg file]

I don't know the deadline but it would be great if it were put up in the next few days. I also asked (in a comment to that question on MSE) what the deadline was just now.Wed, 19 Dec 2012 12:16:48 -0600http://ask.sagemath.org/question/9632/a-place-to-advertise-sage/?comment=18498#post-id-18498Comment by kcrisman for
[Updated again: new font and svg file]
