https://ask.sagemath.org/question/8102/problem-during-install-sage-ubuntu-python/?comment=21762#post-id-21762The error on line 163 about `libgfortran.so.3` suggests that you are missing the `gfortran` package (that is what it is called in Debian; probably the same for Ubuntu). If installing `gfortran` does not solve the problem, I suggest posting your question on the sage-support mailing list (http://groups.google.com/group/sage-support/). This Q&A site does not work well for long discussion threads.Thu, 05 May 2011 07:26:53 -0500https://ask.sagemath.org/question/8102/problem-during-install-sage-ubuntu-python/?comment=21762#post-id-21762Answer by Adrian soto for <p>hi,

https://ask.sagemath.org/question/8102/problem-during-install-sage-ubuntu-python/?answer=12395#post-id-12395I started to get this in sage 4.6.2, and I got it again with sage 4.7
It got solved by going to software center, in ubuntu, and install libgfortran3
or do
sudo apt-get install libgfortran3
This is what I had:
ImportError: libgfortran.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Error importing ipy_profile_sage - perhaps you should run %upgrade?

Peace.
