I do not find a clear explanation and enumeration. Of course my problem is not with the standard rings (`ZZ`, `RR`, `CC`...) but all the other like `QQbar`(field of algebraic numbers), `AA` (the field of algebraic reals)...
My question is not a mathematical question but is correlated to SageMathWed, 08 Feb 2023 12:37:52 +0100https://ask.sagemath.org/question/66282/rings-and-fields-in-sagemath/Answer by Emmanuel Charpentier for <p>Due to my initial formation, I have some difficulties with the numerous rings or fields used in Sagemath. https://ask.sagemath.org/question/66282/rings-and-fields-in-sagemath/?answer=66284#post-id-66284When in doubt, use the [reference manual](https://doc.sagemath.org/html/en/reference/) (your local version can be displayed in your Browser by typing `manual()`, and is also one of the items of the `Help` tab of Jupyter notebook).
For example, searching for `QQbar` (the `Search` dialog is right under the Sage logo at the top left of the manual page), gives you a (long) sequence of occurrences of the `"QQbar"` string in Sage documentation. The first item points to the [documentation](https://doc.sagemath.org/html/en/reference/number_fields/sage/rings/qqbar.html?highlight=qqbar#module-sage.rings.qqbar) you are searching.
It might be useful to search for the "canonical" name of a ring/field rather than its "nickname" of more common use ; for example, searching for `AlgebraicRealField` leads you directly to its [documentation](https://doc.sagemath.org/html/en/reference/number_fields/sage/rings/qqbar.html?highlight=algebraicrealfield), whereas searching for `AA` gives you a really long list of matches...
