The folder with sage-5.10 is there, clicking in the folder I can see all the folders and files inside it on any level. Have being using a worksheet for a while with some calculations. I start my sage worksheet in my terminal changing directory
cd /home/alien/Desktop/Sage/sage-5.10
then
./sage
then
notebook()
But suddenly when making the cd /home/alien/Desktop/Sage/sage-5.10 I'm getting the message "No such file or directory". So can't start again sage and using my worksheet. How can I solve this problem?.Wed, 28 Feb 2018 02:48:52 +0100https://ask.sagemath.org/question/41295/see-and-access-sage-510-folder-but-get-no-such-file-or-directory-message/Comment by kcrisman for
I have installed sage-5.10 in my laptop with Ubuntu 13.04. In any case, this certainly could work if Sage lives in that directory; however, is it possible you removed it with an update?Wed, 28 Feb 2018 02:54:54 +0100https://ask.sagemath.org/question/41295/see-and-access-sage-510-folder-but-get-no-such-file-or-directory-message/?comment=41297#post-id-41297Comment by alien for
I have installed sage-5.10 in my laptop with Ubuntu 13.04. Installed sage in my Ubuntu and began to do some calculations related to my research in mathematics. A little complicated period of my life began too and I had to forget my calculations for e few years. Now I finally can continue my research, this explains why sage 5.10. As far as I remember I never did an update, the directory is there, I can see every thing inside the folder.Wed, 28 Feb 2018 03:41:14 +0100https://ask.sagemath.org/question/41295/see-and-access-sage-510-folder-but-get-no-such-file-or-directory-message/?comment=41299#post-id-41299Comment by kcrisman for
I have installed sage-5.10 in my laptop with Ubuntu 13.04. But we'd have to know more about this to know why you can't get in this directory - it seems like more of a Linux issue than a Sage issue so far. What happens if you do `ls /home/alien/Desktop/Sage/sage-5.10`? If that works, then so should changing into that directory ...Sun, 11 Mar 2018 02:52:41 +0100https://ask.sagemath.org/question/41295/see-and-access-sage-510-folder-but-get-no-such-file-or-directory-message/?comment=41485#post-id-41485
