I'm trying to get around some very tedious hyperbolic geometry computations. I'm okay with defining functions and writing very basic things. I found this page indicating commands to compute a whole bunch of amazing things that I'd love to be able to use:
http://doc.sagemath.org/html/en/reference/geometry/sage/geometry/hyperbolic_space/hyperbolic_geodesic.html
But if I type the commands listed, Sage does not recognize them. For example, if I try to do what they say to do on that page and type
HyperbolicPlane().UHP().get_geodesic(2,3)
I get an error message that 'HyperbolicPlane' is note defined. How do I implement whatever that person did to get Sage to do all those awesome things?Fri, 25 Sep 2015 06:04:07 +0200https://ask.sagemath.org/question/29575/how-do-i-implement-this-module-of-hyperbolic-geometry-commands/Comment by kcrisman for
I am new to Sage. What version of Sage are you using, and where (e.g. cloud, notebook, CLI)? I get your error in Sage 6.5 but it seems to be fine in 6.8.Fri, 25 Sep 2015 09:28:45 +0200https://ask.sagemath.org/question/29575/how-do-i-implement-this-module-of-hyperbolic-geometry-commands/?comment=29579#post-id-29579Comment by tmonteil for
I am new to Sage. https://ask.sagemath.org/question/29575/how-do-i-implement-this-module-of-hyperbolic-geometry-commands/?comment=29584#post-id-29584I confirm it works for me on Sage 6.8. As @kcrisman suggested, you should provide more details.Fri, 25 Sep 2015 14:18:12 +0200https://ask.sagemath.org/question/29575/how-do-i-implement-this-module-of-hyperbolic-geometry-commands/?comment=29584#post-id-29584Comment by j0equ1nn for
I am new to Sage. I'm trying to figure out what version I have and how to upgrade it. I'm also new to using Linux and that's what I'm running Sage from.. trying to learn more though.Sun, 27 Sep 2015 02:53:54 +0200https://ask.sagemath.org/question/29575/how-do-i-implement-this-module-of-hyperbolic-geometry-commands/?comment=29603#post-id-29603Comment by j0equ1nn for
I am new to Sage. Now I'm working on how to update it.Sun, 27 Sep 2015 02:56:38 +0200https://ask.sagemath.org/question/29575/how-do-i-implement-this-module-of-hyperbolic-geometry-commands/?comment=29604#post-id-29604Comment by j0equ1nn for
I am new to Sage. Any ideas?Sun, 27 Sep 2015 03:04:53 +0200https://ask.sagemath.org/question/29575/how-do-i-implement-this-module-of-hyperbolic-geometry-commands/?comment=29606#post-id-29606Comment by j0equ1nn for
I am new to Sage. https://ask.sagemath.org/question/29575/how-do-i-implement-this-module-of-hyperbolic-geometry-commands/?comment=29631#post-id-29631You should be able to build from scratch. I recommend that, assuming that you are not always online!Mon, 28 Sep 2015 12:08:10 +0200https://ask.sagemath.org/question/29575/how-do-i-implement-this-module-of-hyperbolic-geometry-commands/?comment=29631#post-id-29631
