Note that the Sage notebook is going to become obsolete and unmaintained. If your goal is to user maxima from a notebook, you can try to install the maxima kernel in jupyter, see https://github.com/robert-dodier/maxima-jupyter
It might be a good idea to ship this kernel as a Sage optional package. Do not hesitate to report success/failure/questions/... from your attempts.
