Assuming that you are using the Sage notebook, you can interrupt the computation in a cell by doing CTRL+Cor by clickng on Action > Interrupt button on the top of the worksheet. It will keep the state of the worksheet (variables) untouched. If you want to forget all computations, you can click on Action > Restart Worksheet.
