The script that generates the virtual machine image compiles Sage from source inside the virtual machine. So everything that is required to develop is pretty much guaranteed to be available.

What would be cool would be to also run a ajax shell and editor on the virtual machine on some other port, then you could literally do everything with just a web browser. Sadly I haven't implemented that yet ;-)
