Jupyter not working on Sage 9.8 on Debian 11

With the download of Sage, when running sage -n jupyter the session starts but when you do File->Save As the whole session just hangs. So I built sagemath from source on Debian 11 on the same system and the same thing happens.

I don't see any other reports of this here, so I wonder what could be happening? I am running Debian 11 inside Virtualbox 7.0.2, latest release. This is under x11 and not Wayland.

  • Did you try a Wayland session ?

  • What browser do you use ?
