how to use sage on mac with big sur

I am not a computer person. Downloading Sage seems to reqire openssl which seems to require homebrew which seems to require ... (and down the rabbit hole I go). Any advice?

Once you have downloaded Sage, use the fix_mac_sage script from

https://github.com/3-manifolds/fix_mac_sage/releases/

which will add the missing openssl to it.
