Ask sage to produce the exceptional curves on a surface

I have a surface (actually, a hypersurface) in projective space defined explicitly by a homogeneous equation, for the time being over a finite field. Is there any way to ask Sage to produce all the exceptional curves on this surface, or at least tell me how many there are?
